Someone force me to write this thing.

Before I throw my desk out the window. I have thought up so many plot points and character motivations and secret detective agencies in the heart of London of all things bloody hell — in the last two days that my head is very much about to explode.

(Um, also: I've watched The God Complex, but the review shouldn't be up until tomorrow or the day after that, due to difficulties in conquering the wifi connection. It won't connect! WHY DON'T YOU CONNECT ANYMORE.)

Write, WRITE! WRITE!!!

For that is one awesome prompt, and you've already shown you can pull off a multi-layered, multiple character fic of sneakiness and awesomeness. So BRING IT ON!!!

Hee, thank you ♥ I will write it, I know I will. Putting this notice up here at least gives me a reason not to give it up after five thousand words. :D

Oh God, please write that. Sherlock could be like Austin Powers, only without the terrible teeth, and John could be a client-turned-sidekick, or a Q-type character that Sherlock harbours an undying secret passion for that goes beyond his providing Sherlock with sexy gadgets. Anthea has Miss Moneypenny written all over her, and Mycroft could be scheming to remove M from her place at the top of the ladder and M would eat him for breakfast.

DO IT DO IT DO IT.

Ahahah, I'm afraid what plot I've thought thus far doesn't quite involve so many... shenaningans. It won't be quite as James Bond-y as all that (or Austin Powers-y, for that matter) and will almost all happen in damp little corridors deep in the London Underground. I think? yeah.

(The undying secret passion and sexy gadgets are spot on, though. :D)

SHENANIGANS. <---- A favourite word of mine. Sorry.

That sounds marvellous, actually. Damp dark sneaky little niches hidden inches away from the bustle of the city? With the aforementioned passion and gadgets? SIGN ME UP. Or sign you up, rather.

TYPO QUEEN, I BOW BEFORE YOU. o/ I love that word, I just never seem to be able to type it right.

It'll probably be an age before I finish the first draft of it, though, and I very much dislike posting anything until I have a clear idea of what it'll all turn out to be. So it might be a while in coming. Mmm.

From: [identity profile] veronamay.livejournal.com
Oh LOL, I hadn't even noticed the typo. I just really like the word. :D

You could take a year if you want, I'll still be keen to read it when you're done. In the meantime, me and my cheerleading outfit will be over in the corner practicing handsprings.

D'oh. I thought you were correcting me. :D it's a beautiful word — I've once seen someone refer to it as similar to Cumberbatch's face: doesn't make any logical sense, and where is that thing supposed to go? but quite lovely regardless.

Oh, god, don't have high expectations. I've never written anything resembling a Spy!AU, it'll probably end up a right mess.

Oh, I like that. Also it's rather quietly cheeky, not unlike Himself.

I solemnly swear to get rip-roaring drunk before I read whatever you produce, so either way it'll be fun.

That is a fabulous fabulous prompt, and you'd better write it before it gets lodged in my brain and I start wanting to write it myself. I can't write it myself, I am in the middle of something else that's 18k and not half done. :P Do it, though, it will be awesome.

Date: 2011-09-20 12:06 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] falling-voices.livejournal.com
I SHALL WRITE IT THEN. Tartan approves. :D

A mysterious 18K thing, though! That's something to look forward to, more new fic from you.

THAT DAMN FIC. I've hit an impasse on it, I think. It might get resolved later on this year, as I'm pretty much tackling the exact issues it's addressing in my Shakespeare class. :D

But more seriously, what is your schedule so I can figure out how to be on when you are? :< I'm on for the next hour or so, btw.

Date: 2011-09-21 08:24 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] falling-voices.livejournal.com
Ernm. It's ten-thirty at night here, and I should be around for a bit less than two more hours (because uni tomorrow, ow). I'm usually on at this time of day, and off-and-on for the last five hours or so — except with my new schedule this might change a bit, depending on the days.

I'm rarely on during what's my morning and your middle-of-the-night, because I've got either 1. uni, or 2. sleep. I'm generally on during late afternoon, but that's very early morning for you... I think our best chance is this very timeframe, really.

Oh cool, that works. So about 8 pm (GMT) ish works? Are you just on LJ or are you on other things too? This includes gchat (which I dunno if you use anymore since its name is the same as your old fic journal) or IRC.

Date: 2011-09-21 08:48 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] falling-voices.livejournal.com
Yep, usually. I might watch a movie with my folks sometimes — Fridays or Saturdays — in which case I come in a little later, but stay on a little longer. I'm always on LJ, and gchat when I think of it (which was not until just now today, heh. Logging in...). I'm still shy about IRC, slowly working on overcoming that.

DO ITTTTT. That is a fantastic prompt and I know you'd pull it off brilliantly. In return, I shall offer you more macarons! :D is that joke old and tired yet

(And I understand your wifi connection plight all too well. At my uni library, I am That Girl, the one who a) walks around the library holding her cell phone out while desperately trying to get signal, and b) sobs in the corner because her laptop won't connect to the Internet.)

Macarons never get old, m'love. Neverrrrrr. ilu. ♥

(That sucks, damnit. What I don't get is that it was working perfectly two days ago, and apparently the internet connection is there and running — but the logging-in page won't charge. I don't know why. It'll all end up with me going to the shop and demanding answers, I can see it. D:)

I WILL BE THAT PERSON. I will be that person allllllll day long.

(I did it! And now my thoughts on Let's Kill Hitler, I shall show them to you! I loved all the things I've come to expect to love (RORY! Oh, Rory ♥) but the flaws were just so jarring that I couldn't really get behind the entire premise. Mels appearing from nowhere was shockingly sloppy considering how good DW usually is at laying the groundwork for such things. And Mels/River is just completely inexplicable to me. So she was brainwashed, but still grew up with/under the influence of her parents, but was still programmed enough to actually kill the Doctor with no hesitation or remorse, but then does an about-face at the end for no compelling reason? *skeptical face*

I'm a little disappointed how they've glossed over the complexities of Amy/Rory's relationship with River. Amy and Rory may know that they're her parents now, but it still doesn't feel that way. Mostly because it feels like they were deprived of her entire childhood, but then I guess that's the purpose of Mels. As an audience member, though, she feels so retconned in as not to have any effect. Besides, even taking her into consideration, Mels has always been their equal. And then River has always been their superior. How do you reconcile that with the relationship and emotions associated with a parent and child? Annnnd /tl;dr)

In summary, are you writing yet?? WHEN CAN I READ IT?

Date: 2011-09-21 10:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] falling-voices.livejournal.com
I'll hold you to that. &hearts

(Ngh. I agree with most of this, actually. LKH was a big bad mess — apart from Rory, I loved Rory, and the regeneration scene was pretty badass, and the opening sequence was fairly gorgeous — but in terms of plot it was almost a disconnection from what everybody expected. Mels was frankly boring all the way until she turned into River; as a viewer, I felt almost retconned. Who the hell introduces a character the way you'd introduce a sheer and utter Mary Sue in a terrible bad!fic?

I was fairly heavily disappointed with Amy/Rory's relationship with River/Melody as well, although so far I can somewhat put it down to shock — it has to be rather awkward to get accustomed to. Still, I'm fairly mad at Moffat for not giving them the chance to actually raise their daughter; there's a lack of equilibrium there that I think gets in the way of everybody's characterization... I like River's character much better now than I did back when she first appeared in Ten's run, tbh, but I wish Moffat would tell her story and then move on. If we get more River for a thousand other episodes, I'm going to get very bored very quickly. D:)

I HAVE CLEARED THIS AFTERNOON TO WRITE DOWN THE FIRST PART. o/ I have no idea how long it'll be until I like the first draft enough to start posting on the meme, though. Hopefully before the end of the month?

(I would have been so happy if we had gotten more time with just Amy and Rory being all married couple on the TARDIS. Arcs? I don't need no stinking arcs! jk. well, sort of. my love for the Ponds is great and demanding. I hate to say it, but I think I'm already bored. And have taken to squinting suspiciously in Moffat's general direction.)

THIS NEWS. This news just made my day! Also, the end of the month is next week! \o/

P.S. Between ToNC and this, you have definitely inspired me to drag out and finish the last thing I started writing. Which is also, drumroll please, a detective fic. MEANT TO FUCKING BE, I tell you.

HI I FORGOT TO ANSWER THIS SORRY ABOUT THAT

(I know! I adored the little sequence in the beginning of The Rebel Flesh double episode when Amy&Rory are just faffing about playing darts, and the Doctor is all Who wants fish&chips and Rory just raises a finger aklda, dlk, alsjaslc I pretty much d'awwwwed at everything. Domesticity is the sweetest thing, and I love the Ponds. -> latest episodes, SO MANY FEELINGS.)

Mmmmmyeah. :/ deadlines, I am not good at. I'm working on it, though!

Haha, that is okay! I, uh, kinda actually forgot that I wrote it.

(OH MY GOD. THE GIRL WHO WAITED. I still want to read your reaction to the ep and maybe I will comment there because I have so many feelings about it, most of which can be summed up by <3333333)

All I registered from that sentence is I'm working on it so still \o/!

Haha, yes. It was the most ill-advised fic I ever started. It's a JE private eye AU, which references a genre in which I have absolutely no experience and a fandom of which I was only marginally familiar with in 2007 and almost completely removed from since. And the plot ranges from shaky to nonexistent depending on what day it is. >_<

There will be suits. Isn't that a good reason? That and the fact it is a good prompt, and plot possibilities?
