This is actually one week old or so, but I suppose it should figure here in among all the flailing.
THE EPIC. IT BURNS.
Also,
According to this source, Moffat has told us that one among these

four BAMFs is going to die along the course of the season — presumably, as is my guess, at the end of episode 6, when the show goes all CLIFFHANGER! SEE YOU IN AUTUMN, FOLKS on us. My bet is on Amy, although that is probably what they want us to think — double bluff, triple bluff, it's the climax of A Study In Pink all over again — considering that Rory has already been killed once (and then come back, thank fuck, if they kill him again I'm going to be very very mad), and that we already know how River will/has die(d) — though I wouldn't put it past Moffat to go timey-wimey on us and change her timeline entirely. This, of course, leaves the Doctor (and wouldn't that be a gorgeous twist!) but should he die he'll probably come back, eponymous character, leading the show, that sort of thing, and besides Matt Smith has already expressed his desire to stay on the show for at least two more seasons. And that sort of spoils the terror of it all.
So. Right. Amy. My bet. (If she's pregnant, that's going to be horrifying.)
(Although — killing off the Doctor in the middle of the show does sort of tie in with the regeneration bubble we glimpse in the trailer, and Moffat's warning that, at the end of the first half of Season 6, three people's lives are going to change forever. Also, according to some spoilerish pictures taken during filming, this belongs to episode 7, and Amy looks very much alive. Food for thought.)
(Seriously, if they kill Rory off again I'm going to be pissed. But he's there in the photos too. So yeah, more Rory.)
Other highlights of the upcoming show (be it April 23rd already, oh please):
• finding out who River is, fuck yes. and lots of slapping/kissing the Doctor, more fuck yes.
• more Rory. I'm sorry, more Rory is always good. yes.
• MARRIED COUPLE ON THE TARDIS.
• Neil Gaiman episode!
• ASTRONAUTS IN THE WHITE HOUSE. AND STETSONS. LOTSO STETSONS.
EPIC MINDSCREW AHOY. WE SHALL CALL HIM STEVEN 'CLAMP' MOFFAT. Expect more DW-related posts from me from now till the 23rd, I guess, all with screencaps of the previous seasons (dear girls ♥), and much flailing.
On a totally unrelated note, I've half a mind to make myself a tumblr. On the one hand: time-consuming. On the other: so much lovely. Mmm.

Date: 2011-04-08 05:42 pm (UTC)Heck, even if Amy DOESN'T die, there's still going to be epic concerning the "We'll find you" line. Because there's only SO MUCH that could lead to such a line, and DAMN. Maybe it'll be Rory, and he'll become Doctor Who's Daniel Jackson. "Durr, he died again, but he'll be back. Obviously."
I will be HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED if we do not get either Latin cursing or badass Roman sword skillz from Rory in any case. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Also, am I the only person who finds it slightly suspect that both Doctor Who and Torchwood take place in America?

Date: 2011-04-09 01:59 pm (UTC)OH GOD MOFFDAD, PLEASE DON'T KILL RORY. PLEASE? Gosh, I &hearts Rory.
Latin curses why is this so wonderful. I hadn't thought of that, but my god now I want it so very bad. And I... don't find it suspicious, as such, but definitely weird. That said, everything always happens in the UK, and it's nice to change locations once in a while, hmm? (but I can't help but be disappointed every time I watch that Paris! ... America, in fact. bit — I do wish they'd cross the channel for an episode here.)
... I don't think I'll be watching Torchwood this season — I'll take a look, sure, but frankly I mostly liked Tosh and Ianto, and now they're both dead. My opinion of Jack has slowly dwindled down over CoE, too. I miss Who!Jack. ;o;

Date: 2011-04-09 06:28 pm (UTC)Of course Moffat could be completely screwing with us when he says one of them is going to die. I wouldn't put it past him at all. Who says something else can't happen to them, but they could still be referred to as dead? Like Amy's parents, they were "dead", but they'd really just been eaten by the crack. It could be Amy, and that'd fit with the "We'll find you" line. Maybe she accidentally got sent to some far off, unknown corner of time and space, and Rory freaked out and was all, "We'll never find her again, she might as well be dead!" and the Doctor of course is all, "We will find her."
Things I've noticed after countless rewatchings: That space bar that River got the vortex manipulator from in the finale? Shows up just as it did in the finale in the American trailer, but in the British trailer it looks abandoned. And then there's the whole creepy face doing the corner of your eye thing. And when the TARDIS appears in the White House, it isn't a proper materialization. And they're most prominent in the Christmas trailer, but both Amy and River get those black marks on them.
Yeah, I didn't like CoE. Torchwood managed to get better and worse at the same time? through series 1 and 2, and CoE seemed to just be this huge WTF moment. And yeah, Ianto was awesome, and angsty!Jack is... not. It's like they're doing a falling into darkness storyline with him, but not realizing it. It's like you almost expect him to just completely lose it and go around shooting everything that gets in his way, but he never does and you have no idea what's in character for him anymore. So yeah, I'll give the first episode or so a look and see if they hook me, but if it's anything like CoE forget it.

Date: 2011-04-14 09:28 am (UTC)Right, so: I don't want Amy&Rory to go either, but I think they will by the end of the season? I mean — all thoughout Nu!Who and what I've seen of Old!Who, I don't think I've ever seen companions stay on longer than two seasons. Hmm. I just hope it won't all be horribly tragic (the finale, I mean) — between Rose stuck in an alternate world (with, admittedly, her family and the man she loves, but still) and Donna losing her memories, we need more Martha&Mickey!happy endings.

Oh hey, you're right! the corner of your eye thing had struck me, because I thought it was incredibly creepy, but the proper materialization, or lack thereof, hadn't made such an impression. I wonder.
Re: Amy in the picture, I agree, but that might just be a shadowy thingy — the order of the characters on that picture is fairly logical, and she's standing right next to the Doctor, who is cast forwards, which might allow for the stuck back thing. Oh, I dunno — I'm not certain they would go so far as to put spoilery clues as to who might die in a promotional poster. (Though it's always fun to wonder...)
