Well. So this happened over at
holmeschat. And as a result my inbox has been flooded with emails and PMs these last two days, so I'm just going to say this here instead of copy-pasting the same response a thousand times over in my little answer box.1. yes,
cons_detective and I really are dating,2. yes, he is Tall, Pale and Gorgeous from the con — looks like I was having two different crushes on the same person all along,
3. no, we're not taking the piss,
4. yes, the irony is really quite delicious, and
5. no, you don't get any details about our sex life (although it is great, tyvm).
To those of you who were curious as to how this came about, well, I can only say that spending a serious portion of one's lives in the same fandom, writing stories about the same pairing, working on a joint project for months, living in the same town and going to the same con can sometimes have unexpected consequences. And I'm very, very thankful for it.
To those of you who offered their congratulations, you have all our thanks, and chances are if we did not already love you very much, then we do now. (ETA: in my case, of course. In
cons_detective's he grudgingly does not dislike you.)And to those of you who very unsubtly proceeded to insult my boyfriend to my face and insinuate that, I quote, 'he is only trying to manipulate [me] for attention', well
