sara versus technology: part #3487423

... my laptop just shouted 'You're an idiot!' at me.

I. Just. What.

(I think it's breaking down. Most of it just — doesn't work anymore, apps and scrolling menus and folders and documents don't respond to any kind of stimulation, the dock might as well not be there at all. The only thing still going is the Internet, and that's only because I left Firefox open. This feud will never end.

Still, I wasn't quite expecting it to add insult to injury so literally.)

The Social Network is basically the story of 1. Facebook, and 2. big, epic, tragic break-up between the two main characters. At this point it's not even subtext anymore. o/ it's rather fantastic. It's wonderfully-played, very well-written, and I rather love the fandom, lurker that I am. Go see it! :D as for Inception, I'd seen it twice when it came out, and I was. Um. I dunno — I liked it, a lot, but I was expecting more mind-fuck? I guess? which is rather a strange thing to say. But I went in thinking we were going to have a lot of different dreams entangled together, and instead we had like, four. But it's a good movie, regardless. As for fic, it's funny, because I came out of the cinema thinking people would be all over Cobb/Saito, and then it was all Arthur/Eames everywhere. Which is nice in its own way, but it surprised me. ANYWAY. /le ramble

Laptop seems to be working fine now that I've restarted it, so hopefully it'll stay that way. Yeah.

Oooh, epic tragic break-ups are always good :D /adds it to the list of things to see

Yeah, when I first saw Inception, none of the pairings really jumped out at me, and then when I saw the sheer amount of Arthur/Eames fic, I started reading, and FrUK fangirl that I am, I started seeing Arthur/Francis in their characters. /has her FrUK goggles on and isn't taking them off, nope

And then I've been lurking a bit in the X-Men: First Class fandom, but it's difficult, because while I did enjoy the movie, I'm not really a huge X-Men fan, so there are all these other characters popping up and I have no idea who they are :P

It's funny - last night, my brother's computer just died. And now there are pop-up messages saying the hard drive's damaged, and, just. ugh. Technology :\

The problem is that when you've already seen it, the entire movie's heartbreaking. By the end you just want them to kiss and make up already. D:

Cobb/Saito was the only prominent one I could see taking off — Cobb/Mal I just couldn't see people shipping very much, and Arthur/Adriane might have been a pleasant side pairing. Also, Saito's fucking fabulous and deserves much fic. And then Arthur/Eames took off, and it was a bit baffling. There's a lot of really good, well-written stuff done for them, but I just can't get as interested as in other ships of mine. /shrug

I didn't see X-Men: First Class; I only ever caught snippets at the library. It seems interesting, and I'm told the subtext is thick enough you could cut through it with a knife. Mostly I'm really looking forward to Avengers fandom — I love the Iron Man movies far more than I probably should, and although I saw neither Thor nor Captain America more Tony Stark is always something I can look forward to.

TRUFAX. As I was watching it, I thought - fandom is going to be all over this, I just know it. And I was right! As for fic, I'm reading one right now, a daycare!verse series where Charles takes care of toddler!mutants and Erik's an engineer they're all so domestic and lovely and company picnics andand yeah. yeah. my weakness, they've found it.

I love the Iron Man movies, too! And I didn't see Captain America or Thor :\ I'm actually reaaaally behind with superhero movies. I didn't see The Dark Knight until... well, years after everyone else :P
